Youth Area
We saw a lot of potential with the upstairs part of the old building attached to the back of the church, so we decided now was the time to get started on fixing it up. Below are some photos of the work in progress up there.
This is the room directly north of the
main building. In fact, a doorway was put into this room from the stairwell
leading to the sanctuary balcony.
This photo was taken in the same room as
above, just at a different angle. Here, the studding is in progress.
This is a new furnace replacing, and in
the same spot as the one in the first picture. This furnace heats the
downstairs.
This new furnace is the one that will be
heating the upstairs youth area.

This picture, taken from the
Northwestern most corner, shows more complete studding. The particular area seen
here will be a used as classrooms.

A few days later, in the same room as
the last picture, we can see that the drywall has begun to go up, as well as a
new exit on the far Eastern wall which leads to steps going down to the parking
lot.

Here we see that the drywall is
complete, and painting is beginning.
The new windows have are also going in,
as seen in this picture.
Here we see the walls fully painted,
windows in, and the grid for the drop ceiling.
Here we see the lights in and the tile
going in.

The next step was preparing the floor
for carpet.

Down goes the carpet...

Here is the kitchenette area attached to
the large youth room.

Here is another view of the finished
work, doors are hung, trim is up, and furniture is in. This will be a classroom
for the highschool class and also a conference room for Todd Winkler, our full
time youth minister.
