Warren's VBS 2005
Because of the success in 2004, five Warren area churches decided to combine their VBS program for a second year in a row. The churches involved were the Warren Church of Christ, the First Baptist Church, the United Church of Christ, Jefferson Center United Methodist, and the Warren United Methodist Church.
Held at the Warren Church of Christ, there were an average of 76 children each day. The theme was "Jesus helps you power up", with special emphasis on "one another" commands like accepting on another, forgiving one another, loving one another, comforting one another, and serving one another. Kids were also encouraged to take an active role in these things as well as staying physically active. And of course, there was also time for snacks, crafts, music, and games.
A mission was also chosen which would help tie in with the theme, specifically loving and serving one another. The mission for VBS was Casa de Niņos a children's home in San Louis Potosi, Mexico. The children learned about some of the children there, and the money given was to help pay for new church clothes for the children and bricks for an inside wall being replaced. You can learn more about Casa de Niņos here.
